AB1033 Educational Seminar - Nov 17

The Small Builders Association (SBA) hosted the AB 1033 Educational Seminar at San José City Hall, bringing together 200+ homeowners and community members eager to learn about new opportunities in housing development. The City of San José demonstrated strong commitment to expanding housing access by providing resources, development staff, and direct guidance for residents interested in ADU development and conversion.

During the seminar, representatives from the Mayor’s Office, Planning & Building, and Public Works shared the latest updates on ADU policies and walked attendees through the step-by-step process of converting an ADU into a condominium under AB 1033. The City also highlighted the ADU Ally Program, an initiative designed to streamline communication and make it easier for homeowners to access the information and support they need.

The event also featured insights from industry professionals and lending partners, helping homeowners better understand the development, financing, and implementation process for ADU projects.
